SALIRE:

THE FUTURE OF DANCE IS POWERFUL

Why now?

Los Angeles, a city teeming with artistic innovation, has long been known for its film, music, and commercial dance industries, yet classical ballet has often struggled to claim its rightful place. WE SEE an opportunity to change that. We have set out to create a world-class ballet company that will not only showcase classical technique at the highest level but also push the boundaries of what ballet can be in the 21st century.

Vision

WE ARE dedicated to the creation, curation, and evolution of ballet as a living, dynamic art form. Rooted in Los Angeles, we seek to redefine ballet’s cultural impact by blending the richness of classical tradition with the innovation of contemporary movement. We believe ballet is not a relic of the past but an ever-evolving language of expression—one that speaks to today’s audiences while preserving the integrity and excellence of the art form.

Through bold storytelling, world-class performances, and cutting-edge collaborations, Angel City Ballet will position itself as a cultural hub for dance, bridging the worlds of athleticism, artistry, and innovation. Our mission is to cultivate an environment where dancers, choreographers, and audiences alike can experience ballet in fresh, transformative ways, ensuring its relevance for generations to come.

Goals

I

A Premier Ballet Institution in Los Angeles: Establish a state-of-the-art headquarters that houses the Angel City Ballet company, school, and administrative offices. This space will serve as a center for artistic excellence, training the next generation of dancers while providing the company with dedicated rehearsal studios and resources to support their craft

II

A Dedicated Performance Venue: Develop a custom-built performance space ensuring accessibility to a diverse audience and integrating ballet into the city’s cultural fabric. This venue will host both full-length classical productions and groundbreaking contemporary works. Say something about the campus-style facility

III

A Large, Versatile Company: Capable of performing grand-scale classical repertory while also pushing the boundaries of ballet through the development of new, original works. This dual focus will allow us to honor the past while shaping the future.

IV

Innovation in Dance Creation & Curation

    •    Commission and produce new works that reflect the evolving landscape of ballet.

    •    Foster collaborations with choreographers, composers, designers, and multimedia artists to expand the artistic possibilities of the form.

    •    Develop an in-house choreographic lab, encouraging dancers and emerging artists to explore new movement vocabularies.

V

Sustainable and Forward-Thinking Funding Model

Move beyond traditional donor-reliant structures by forging strategic partnerships with corporate sponsors, including Olympic and entertainment industry sponsors, ensuring financial stability and growth.

VI

Community Engagement & Education

    •    Build an elite training program that nurtures pre-professional dancers while making ballet education accessible to a wide audience.

    •    Offer community outreach programs to schools and underserved areas, making ballet an inclusive and inspiring force.

    •    Develop digital initiatives to bring our performances, classes, and behind-the-scenes content to a global audience.

VII

A Global Voice for Ballet

Position Angel City Ballet as a leading force in the international dance scene, engaging in tours, festivals, and cultural exchanges that place Los Angeles at the center of the ballet world.

Through these goals, Angel City Ballet will not only sustain ballet as an art form but propel it into the future, ensuring its continued evolution as a powerful and relevant medium for artistic expression.
